Create Active Directory Bulk Users from CSV using PowerShell

Create Active Directory Bulk Users from CSV

It might not be common for every server administrator to need to import a large number of users at once. However, if you do, the process can be automated and save you massive amounts of time. It requires a little bit of leg work to set things up but once the process starts it’s amazingly fast. The basic workflow of this is to create a CSV file in Excel of all your users and their attributes. You would then import that file in Active Directory using a Powershell Script. The import itself takes seconds instead of spending 5-10 minutes per user the manual way.

CSV File Format:

Name | GivenName | DisplayName | EmailAddress | UserPrincipalName | SamAccountName | Title | Department | Company | Path | AcountPassword

PowerShell:

Import-Csv C:\newusers.csv | foreach {New-ADUser -Name $_.name -GivenName $_.name -Surname  $_.GivenName -displayname $_.displayname -EmailAddress $_.EmailAddress -UserPrincipalName $_.UserPrincipalName -SamAccountName $_.SamAccountName -Title $_.Title -Department $_.Department -company $_.company -Office $_.Office -City $_.city -OfficePhone $_.OfficePhone -MobilePhone $_.MobilePhone  -Path $_.Path -Accountpassword  (ConvertTo-SecureString -AsPlainText $_.AccountPassword -Force) -Enabled $true -ChangePasswordAtLogon 0}

    Only humans could have made Chernobyl happen, only humans could have solved the problem of Chernobyl. This is a hard-to-watch but deeply important miniseries in times where the pressure to disband regulations and gut the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) are at an all-time crescendo in the USA. Incidentally and thanks to our more stringent regulatory agencies, the nuclear power industry in the west operates under a set of strict regulations. In the USA, nuclear reactors are built inside containment buildings. The USA had the Three Mile Island partial meltdown, yet almost no radiation escaped into the atmosphere. Chernobyl in the cash-strapped Soviet Union had no building around it (or any of their Soviet reactors). We learn by watching Chernobyl that they were designed to deliver massive amounts of power at the lowest cost. They also had no safety nets for the worse case scenario. They weaved personal stories, all deftly stitched together, and were well served by a crack team of below-the-line craftspeople whose special effects, makeup, and set design excelled at every level. You can see their production carefully researched the physical effects of radiation exposure at different degrees of contamination. Also, the top-level production design is on display, which includes set decoration of authentically dressed Soviet offices and homes. It is not easy to pull off these visually important details yet they do it exceptionally. Who is in Chernobyl? Harris has the right amount of restraint and fury at the perfect moments and no one could have filled out this role any better. He should be included on the shortlists for critics at awards time for his portrayal of Legasov. The secondary story is of Lyudmilla Ignatenko (Jessie Buckley) the pregnant wife of fated firefighter (Adam Nagatis) who was a first responder walking among the lethal graphite debris field. His physical deterioration his hard to watch. Chernobyl Episode 6 watch online. Sure the latter party was democratically elected, and the CPSU was not, but there’s no essential difference between how they respond to information they do not want to hear or spread. In episode two of Chernobyl, we have two scientists, Valery Legasov (Jared Harris), and Ulyana Khomyuk (Emily Watson). The first is morose and sees no hope for humanity. Indeed, we open the series with his suicide, which in reality took place two years after the disaster. The second major scientist (who is a composite character) still believes action can be taken and change occur if the truth insists and insists and insists. It is the first scientist who is, however, more attuned to the way things actually are. His roiling gloom finds its vent in the anger expressed by Bill Nye. The Soviet scientist knows why the nuclear plant is burning and why nothing is being done. Those in power, however, would rather drive society into the ground than change direction. Two Chernobyl plant workers died on the night of the accident, and a further 28 people died within a few weeks as a result of acute radiation poisoning. Resettlement of areas from which people were relocated is ongoing. In 2011 Chernobyl was officially declared a tourist attraction. Contrary to the above assessment by the World Nuclear Association, Sputnik International reported a more grim death and health toll: In total, about 8.4 million citizens of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine were exposed to radiation. According to the Union Chernobyl of Ukraine, about 9,000 Russian liquidators died and over 55,000 were disabled as a result of the Chernobyl tragedy. On July 7, 1987, six former officials and technicians at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant went on trial on charges of negligence and violation of safety regulations. Three of them – Viktor Bruyihov, the former Chernobyl power station director, Nikolai Fomin, the former chief engineer and Anatoly Dyatlov, the former deputy chief engineer – were sentenced to 10 years in prison. Back when it happened, there was great concern about the long-term health threats of the people in Europe where the winds carried the massive plumes of smoke laden with radioactive particles. While the Soviets are blamed for the reactor design and training of the personnel working in the control room, their reaction to disaster, once they acknowledged the severity and scale of the problem, was pretty impressive. The devised and executed a plan to construct a cement crypt to enclose the core. They did this all in 209 days. The workers, on-site, that made this happen have been portrayed as the true heroes of this saga. I will watch the remaining three episodes of this mini-series. But, I also read reviews about the various books on Chernobyl and just ordered the acclaimed Midnight in Chernobyl published just this year. Chernobyl 5 Episode.
    Anyone else watch Chernobyl on hbo? I just finished the first episode out of the 3 out right now and it’s pretty good. It’s horrifying but it’s so fascinating seeing how much damage was done but i still feel like a bad person for wanting to see how they die lol. Its incredible. I feel its way scarier than any horror Ive seen purely because I know it really happened. The denialism and stubborn leadership in the early moments was so frustrating. Then when they were laying it out to Gobachev in episode 2 what the world was facing if they didnt act immediately. Amazing piece of tv. I just read the wiki about it. I think I’ll check it out tonight. I really want to watch it because I love science and this is an event that I’ve never known the details about.
